This is the help page which will continue to be built by site admins and site users.

Brief tutorials will be posted here over the coming days, weeks, months and years.

This page also has comment capability which allow users to ask questions, respond to other user questions, post their own tips and tutorials, etc.

Over time, useful tutorials and user tips/tutorials will be moved to a standalone FAQ page.

Embedding Videos from YouTube or Similar Sites

Simply paste the embed code into the editing interface.

That's it, you're done, party on.

Cross-Posting from Daily Kos or Other Sites

Have your Daily Kos original diary opened in the editing interface.
Copy the intro straight from your Daily Kos diary.
Paste it directly into the diary that you're creating here at DK GreenRoots.
Do the same thing with the body of your Daily Kos diary.

You're done. Everything will transfer over including images, formatting, links, sources etc.

Note: If you wish to preview your post in the editing interface of this site in real time, just click the eyeball icon in the menu of the editing interface to switch to preview mode, then click again to return to editing mode.

Locating Your User ID

Have the published version of your Daily Kos original diary open, not the editing version.

Copy the intro straight from your Daily Kos diary.

Paste it directly into the diary that you're creating here at DK GreenRoots.

Do the same thing with the body of your Daily Kos diary.

You're done. Everything will transfer over including images, formatting, links, sources etc.

Note: This same general method will work when cross-posting from most sites.

In the navigation menu, click "My Account".
On the page that opens, there are three buttons near the top: View, Edit, Track.
Hover over View and you'll see your user id at the in the status bar at the bottom of your screen.
